My guinea pig runs around like a bucking horse?

We have only had him for 5 days, but two days ago, i took him out of his cage to let him run around my room. He kept running around my sister and jumping in the air and kicking wildly, he resembled a bucking bronco! Why does he do this, and sometimes I see him do it in his cage.
