University or college?

i am turning grade12 this september 2008 but im so confused if i want to be in college or university. i wanna take up a nursing program. should i take university subjects instead of college subjects like math-U. just to be sure that after my grade12 i can go either of the two. bec.some says that university subjects are also applicable in college but the college subjects are not applicable for university, just for college only.how is that?will i take the university subjects?just to be sure?
