Aren't Republicans also Keynesians or even Socialists when they are in power?

Absolutely... Republicans when they gain control of the Government, every time increase spending... but not just for the military but also for big business and global imperialism. We saw this with Ronald Reagan, Bush Sr and then Bush Jr.
